Matias Kalmar

I was born and raised in Argentina, never played too many sports other than field hockey when I was a child, and tennis during a fee years of high school.

Growing up I’ve always been overweight and didn't have any idea about healthy eating. My parents got divorced when I was a baby, and since little I’ve visited my father here in the US every year. Later on he offered me the opportunity to move to the US and getting my papers, which I did right after finishing high school on 2015.At that time, since I didn't have my papers yet, I couldn't work nor study, but I did have a gym a mile away from my house so I decided to do something for myself and started going.

Few months go by and my physique started showing some improvements, I started reading and learning about exercises and nutrition, and applying those to myself.

3 years later and a completely different physique already, I was so in love with the process that I decided to get my PT certification through ISSA and start helping people make the same changes to their lives.

In 2018 I started working in corporate gyms and later in 2019 I decided to become an independent trainer, taking both in-person as well as online clients, and that transition has been a life changing.My passion and curiosity for fitness kept growing, as I started getting involved more in the industry.

I competed in my first bodybuilding show in 2021, in men's physique, and then took it a step further and competed on my second show in July 2023 in Bodybuilding class, reinforcing my passion for the sportI always loved and I'm very passionate when it comes to teaching people new and healthy habits, and changing their lives through fitness and health.

Seeing their happiness after achieving their goals and finding new ones is what I love the most about being a coach.
